LE VOILE DE LA MARIÉE
"We need to get back to nature. We've lost our way in technological urgency and synthetic ways of operating. There's so much talk of speed in culture, and we're overwhelmed by technology. To reflect time is also to contribute to time. I wanted to be as pure as possible with this collection. I guess I just wanted to take a different turn. The majority of this collection is composed of organic fibres."
The collection develops a very colorblock approach, focusing on bright colors ranging from polka-dot green and electric blue to canary yellow, and follows the trajectory initiated by la Maison 's artistic direction by defining its signature high waist via fitted but very feminine proportions, this season almost reminiscent of 70s workwear.
"The liberation of women in the 70s was quite a turning point in France. Women found themselves working very quickly as France opened its doors to globalization. Marriage was less crucial, more a means of survival, just a tradition."
From structured jumpsuits to flowing silk kimonos, the collection evolves towards purer, more organic compositions of broderie anglaise, gabardine from Cotton and navy-striped Linen . Special fastenings and fastenings have been designed to make dressing and undressing easier in the hectic pace of everyday life.
"I like to create bridges between bespoke shapes and blurs that are completely out of time. The challenge is to balance a rigorous structure while offering a sense of fluidity."
