SUPERNATURE

The Autumn Winter 2019 collection is entitled "Supernature" and revisits still life through a contemporary digital approach. True to the brand's artistic director's appetite for contrast and playful provocation, this seasonal print is a tribute to both Impressionist painters, notably Renoir, and modern photographer Erwin Olaf.

The season's print, Hortense, is illustrated with a painting of flower bouquets in varied arrangements, using them as exercises in shapes and colors and enjoying mixing different species. Fuchsia and pale pink roses are mixed with touches of bright blue and other white flowers accompanied by greenery. Warm and cool tones play with each other, and the contrast is accentuated by the black background against which they stand out.

The collection features a selection of bright colors ranging from fuchsia to electric blue, mixed with pastel pink and pale blue, continuing la Maison 's artistic direction in determining the key pantone tone of the season's print to create harmonious styles. The cuts and silhouettes, reminiscent of the '70s and early '80s, highlight the artistic director's fundamentals such as high-waisted jumpsuits and full sleeves, pay homage to Yves Saint Laurent via a printed velvet suit, stand out with an extravagant pink faux fur and bring the new Hortense print to life on iconic Fête Impériale models such as the Camus Jumpsuit, the Eupraxia blouse and Alice shirt.

The collection evolves towards deep printed and lamé velvets, Italian silks and black and pale pink vinyl. Music and the arts are always a source of inspiration for Laura Gauthier Petit, founder and artistic director of la Maison, who named each piece after artists of the time: Bette, Ringo... Finally, let's return to the name "Supernature", which is both a nostalgic look back at Laura's childhood groups and an illustration of the brand's attachment to the ever-evanescent botanical world.
