"LES NUES"

SPRING SUMMER 20

The Spring/Summer 2020 Collection from Fête Impériale, entitled Les Nues, has been designed around two prints that Laura has created especially for the occasion. The first, in two variations, is a drawing of naked bodies intertwined. A grey and blanche version, as if drawn with a pencil and softened with an eraser, keeps the original proportions of the bodies. A second version, that of the giants, is a 400% enlargement of the original version, giving a pixelated effect. Through the obvious homage to Matisse and his series of nude dancers, Laura Gauthier-Petit also wishes to highlight and amuse herself with the nude works of the 1950s, which were considered provocative at the time. The other woman in the collection, the one that adorns the second drawing, was created with the illustrator Marianne Ratier, and is strong, entwined in poppy flowers. She is strong, entwined in poppy flowers. She ironically takes the opposite view of the woman seen only as an erotic object. She is a metaphor for female power.
